Go see the once-in-a-lifetime lake at Death Valley.

Six years ago, I started this blog with a simple idea: adventure matters.

At the time, I was focused on travel. I had recently taken a road trip through Northern Arizona, and like many aspiring travel bloggers, I dreamed of documenting my journeys and inspiring others to explore more of the world around them.

I published a few posts, bought a domain name, and imagined all the places I would go.

Then life happened.

A whole new adventure began.

Careers changed. Relationships changed. Responsibilities piled up. The years passed faster than I expected, and before I knew it, six years had gone by without a single new post.

For a long time, I viewed that as a failure. A project started and abandoned.

But looking back now, I realize something important: I never stopped adventuring.

I just changed what adventure looked like.

When Adventure Doesn’t Look Like Travel

For most of my life, adventure meant movement.

It meant road trips, camping weekends, spontaneous flights, backpacking through unfamiliar places, and saying yes to opportunities that seemed just a little outside my comfort zone.

Those experiences shaped me. They taught me confidence, resilience, curiosity, and wonder.

But somewhere along the way, I started believing that adventure only counted if it was big enough.

A plane ticket.

A national park.

A passport stamp.

A bucket-list destination.

When life became busier, those opportunities became fewer and farther between. I found myself waiting for the next trip to feel excited again.

The problem is that life isn’t only lived on vacations.

Most of our lives happen in ordinary moments.

And if we’re only looking for adventure in faraway places, we miss countless opportunities to find it right where we are.

Adventure Is Everywhere

It’s the little things that matter most.

Today, Don’t Stop Adventuring means something much bigger than travel.

Adventure is trying a new recipe when cooking dinner feels repetitive.

Adventure is taking your kids somewhere you’ve never explored before.

Adventure is signing up for the class you’ve been nervous to take.

Adventure is making a new friend as an adult.

Adventure is learning a new skill.

Adventure is hiking a trail close to home.

Adventure is starting over.

Adventure is saying yes when it would be easier to say no.

Travel will always be one of my favorite forms of adventure. You’ll still find road trips, camping trips, travel guides, hiking recommendations, and outdoor exploration here.

But you’ll also find stories about family life, baking, friendship, personal growth, community, and finding joy in everyday experiences.

Because adventure isn’t just about where you go.

It’s about how you choose to live.

Why This Blog Matters Now

There’s no place like home.

Over the last several years, I’ve learned that wonder doesn’t disappear because life gets complicated.

It just requires more intention.

The easiest thing in the world is to become trapped by routine.

To convince yourself you’ll start living when work slows down.

When the kids get older.

When you have more money.

When life becomes easier.

But the truth is that life rarely gets easier. It just keeps moving.

The best adventures often happen when we decide to stop waiting.

This blog is my reminder to do exactly that.

It’s a place to document adventures both big and small. To share travel inspiration, outdoor experiences, recipes, family memories, lessons learned, and ideas for creating a more meaningful life.

Most importantly, it’s a place to celebrate curiosity.

Because curiosity is where every adventure begins.

What’s Coming Next

As I relaunch Don’t Stop Adventuring, you can expect:

My hope is that this space inspires you to find adventure in whatever season you’re in.

Whether you’re planning an international trip, taking your kids to a new park, learning a new hobby, or simply trying something different this weekend, you’re already on the right path.

Adventure doesn’t require a passport.

It doesn’t require perfect timing.

And it doesn’t require having everything figured out.

It only requires a willingness to explore.

So here’s to new beginnings, second chances, and rediscovering the wonder that may have gotten buried under the weight of everyday life.

I’m glad you’re here.

And wherever your next adventure takes you, don’t stop adventuring.
