My name is Markleigh and it’s been my dream for years to write a travel blog. Traveling has inspired so much wonder and delight in my life that I want to share with the world. It’s something I think everyone should have the chance to experience.

I hope to provide ideas and inspiration for travel and adventure in your own backyard and far beyond to help people find adventure anywhere. It’s all around you if you just know where to look.

For years I had a personal policy to never turn down an invitation to travel. I’ve skipped class, quit jobs and abandoned my cats to go on adventures. (Okay, I didn’t abandon them but I did leave them with my mom for a month) This philosophy took me across town, the state, the country and the world. I’ve explored all over the Southwestern United States, driven from Mexico to Canada, and taken a bus all the way through Mexico to Belize. I’ve studied Spanish in Central America and backpacked through Europe. And yet there is so much more to see and do. 

In recent years, I’ve had an ever growing pile of responsibility holding me back from the things I love to do. I’ve turned down opportunities I never thought I would have and I’ve lost my own sense of wonder. In my attempt to rediscover myself I found that what I miss most is the amazement that comes from exploring new places and ideologies. 

I decided that I needed to reignite the passion I used to have for adventure. While I still have that pile of responsibility, I am no longer allowing it to hold me back. You can’t let excuses become your life. Take control, embrace adventure and stay along for the ride.  Whatever adventure means to you is where you should go with it. But whatever you do, don’t stop adventuring
